1 - Can I use foil for specific recipes or potatoes?

No. In order to avoid overheating of the product, you should never use foil on the product.

2 - Can I use my BBQ outdoors and indoors?

Yes. It can be used safely inside the house because the water tray ensures that there is virtually no smoke produced even when cooking fatty foods. Also, the handles and stand are made from thermoplastic so the dinner table is an ideal place to use it. For outdoor use, simply attach an extension cable to the plug and you can get ready for an exciting barbecue.

3 - Can I use my use indoor grill outside on my patio?

You should not use your indoor grill out of doors as indoor products are not designed for outdoor use where the product safety can be affected by rain or humid conditions.

4 - How can I avoid smoke and odour?

Indoor grills are ideal for virtually smoke-free cooking. Always keep the drip tray filled with water. This allows any running off juices and fat to dissipate in the water thereby preventing smoking and flare-ups.

You will see some smoke during the first use. This is normal and will not continue for long. If you continue to see smoke, be sure the grill plate has been cleaned properly.

5 - How can I clean my BBQ?

The products can be fully dismantled for easy cleaning. Grid, cooking plate and water reservoir can be cleaned in the dishwasher. The body of the grill should be wiped down after each use. Never immerse in water.

6 - Is the plastic base dishwasher safe?

No. For cleaning, you just need to wipe with a sponge and washing-up liquid. The same applies to the plastic handles.

7 - My BBQ does not grill properly.

If you are located in a windy place, the cooking surface might cool down and grilling will take longer. If you want to boost the performance of your product, simply add a sheet of foil on the water to reflect all energy coming from the heating element.

8 - My meat is not well marked on my Contact System BBQ

Always respect pre-heating time before putting anything on the grill plate. Refer to the instructions for pre-heating.

9 - What are the temperatures of each setting on a grill with an adjustable thermostat?

- 0 = Off
- Beginning of Heating Zone: Keep Warm = 200-220 F
- Middle of Heating Zone: Low Searing = 220-240 F
- End of Heating Zone: High Searing = 240-270 F

10 - What utensils can I use on my BBQ?

Only use wooden, plastic or Tefal's own nylon utensils. Metal utensils can damage the non-stick coating on the contact grill.

11 - Why do I need to add water in the water reservoir?

The water you add for the cooking process will create a cool zone, below the cooking surface, into which all the grease will fall and be kept, preventing it from burning on a hot surface and causing fumes or flare-ups. Best technology for products to be used safely indoors.
